In August 2016, nine senior academic and practicing specialist vets will undertake an endurance motorbike trip from Johannesburg to Cape Town providing lectures to raise funds for three South African charities: Ethelbert Children’s Home, The Highveld Horsecare Unit and The Bizana Project.

This will be the 6th year of Vets with Horsepower, so far raising over £400,000. 2016 will involve a journey of around 2,500 kilometres over 12 days. Along the way providing one day education events for horse owners and equine veterinarians.

The tour starts in Johannesburg at the Equidome on the 14th, and continues on from there to the Dave Mullins Memorial Event in the Midlands. The next day the Vets will be visiting the Bizana Outreach Programme and continuing their lectures on the 20th at Cherry Place in Port Elizabeth. On the 21st they will be speaking at the Pysiotherapist Para-Veterinary College in Plettenberg Bay and will be finishing off the tour on the 24th, at the Elsenburg Agricultural College in Cape Town.
